COMEBACK KID

"Comeback Kid" is also a nickname for U.S. ex-President Bill Clinton, NHL Hockey Player Mario Lemieux, and NFL (American football) quarterback Joe Montana. HAA??

Comeback Kid (commonly abbreviated as CBK) is a hardcore punk band from Winnipeg, Canada. Their name comes from a headline in a newspaper about hockey player, Mario Lemieux coming back to the NHL. The band was formed in 2002 by Andrew Neufeld and Jeremy Hiebert who were both members of the band Figure Four, which is currently on hiatus. They were joined by their friends Scott Wade and Kyle Profeta, but CBK was originally intended only to be a side project. Their initial popularity was mainly due to word of mouth within the hardcore scene.

History
The band released Turn It Around on Facedown Records in 2003 before moving to Smallman Records in Canada and Victory Records in the rest of the world the following year. In July 2004 Comeback Kid and Figure Four both performed New Jersey. The played on day 2,Saturday the 24th of July.
In February 2005 Comeback Kid released their second album, "Wake the Dead". After some long tours, and Wade's departure from the band, leading to Neufeld becoming the band's vocalist, the band began recording their third album "Broadcasting". After the album's release bass player Kevin Call left the band, issuing a statement regarding leaving Comeback Kid.
"Life has called on me to go in a different direction - one that no longer involves playing bass guitar in Comeback Kid. These past few years has ever played a part in this band - whether you did a stage dive, bought a record, or put forth effort of the dudes the best of luck. We will be playing what will be my last shows in mid-December, including a show in my hometown of Minneapolis. So keep an eye out for those. Thanks. See you around."
In 2008 A CD/DVD was released called "Through The Noise" Which is a line from the song "Industry Standards" off of "Broadcasting..." . The Canadian "Through The Noise" tour followed the release of CD/DVD. It featured bands Bane, Misery Signals, Shai Hulud, Grave Maker, and Outbreak.

TRAPPED UNDER ICE

Trapped Under Ice are a hardcore band from Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

Playing dark, emotional yet brutal hardcore in the vein of 90’s bands like Crown of Thornz and Next Step Up. So far they’ve released a demo, a 7” EP entitled “Stay Cold” and a split with Dirty Money.

Their first LP, ‘Secrets of The World’ was released in August of ‘09.

Their follow up LP “Big Kiss Goodnight” is set to be released on October the 11th 2011.

Following their inception in 2007, a 5-song demo was quick to follow. That demo was also released as an EP on Flatspot Records. Hearing those songs, the crew at Reaper Records approached the band with a deal to release what would become known as the Stay Cold EP. The EP contains 6 tracks of unrelenting hardcore reality. Continuing where 2008's "Stay Cold" EP left off, "Secrets Of The World" is the twelve-track full length from Maryland's new standard bearers of hardcore. The album is designed to inspire self-reflection in a world that leaves you beaten and bleeding.....

CONVERGE

Converge is an American band from Salem, Massachusetts. Playing a blend of hardcore punk and metal since 1990, Converge has helped to define many of the elements of the metalcore genre

The group's musical style consists of complex guitar work and polyrhythmic drumming, as well as frequent use of unorthodox time signatures, leading some to describe the band as mathcore. This is best exemplified on their album Jane Doe. While using hardcore punk as the framework for most of their songs, they also play slower tempo songs, like "Jane Doe", "Hell to Pay", "You Fail Me", "In Her Shadow", "Grim Heart/Black Rose", "Cruel Bloom", "Ten Cents", and "Wretched World."

ALGERNON CADWALLADER

Algernon Cadwallader
Information
Location:PhiladelphiaPA (USA)
Genres:Indie / Other
Record Label:Be Happy Records
Websites:OfficialMusic Page

Algernon Cadwallader is a band from the Philadelphia, PA region. Includes former members of Halfway to Holland.

They have one weird fuckin’ name. Whenever I think of Algernon Cadwallader, the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that that is something I might name my turtle, if I had one. But they’re just one band I can’t stop talking about & recommending. One half of Peter And Craig, Peter , who toured with Towers & I Would Set Myself on Fire for You during Summer ‘06, shares a frontman & bassist with Algernon. You can definitely tell that there is some kinsella influence, it’s like American Football meets SOMETHING FUCKIN’ COOL THAT I CANNOT EXPLAIN AT ALL. The scratchy, raw vocals compliment the twinkly guitars. The drums are just… I don’t know. They add this variable to the music, it’s just so like… encouraging. When you listen to Algernon Cadwallader, take for example, the track with the extremely long name, “Look Down (Because the Ground Is Easier to Understand and Doesn’t Take So Much Work to Figure Out But I’d Rather Not Know Where I’m Standing and Have An Idea of What Life Is All About)” (TLDR, I KNOW RIGHT), you feel this overwhelming optimistic feeling, like “HEY, LETS GET OUT THERE & GET SOME SHIT DONE! CLEAN MY KITCHEN? NO FUCKIN’ PROBLEM, HELL YEAH! I HAVE TO SEW MY CURTAINS? I FUCKING LOVE SEWING!” It’s great. You just have to experience it for yourself.

BANE

Bane, a hardcore punk band, began as a side project betweenAaron Dalbec (then of Converge) and Damon Bellardo. They went into the studio in December 1995 with a few friends and released a 5 song demo. The next year saw the release of their first EP, and many shows throughout centralMassachusetts. The home crowd reactions at local venues The Space, The Espresso Bar and The Palladium were positive. COMADRE

Comadre is a band from Redwood City, a suburb of San FranciscoCalifornia, composed of former members of HeartcrossloveOne's Own RuinWhat Life Makes Us, and Light This City. Their sound is a shoot-off of hardcore and punk, played fast and chaotic with an abundance of energy, but with a large focus on melody and tunefulness as well. Their influences can perhaps best be shown by the covers the band has performed live, by groups such as Rites of SpringRefusedKid Dynamite, and Suicide File.
After playing a handful of shows and releasing a three-song demo under the moniker Coffin, the band changed their name to Comadre in the fall of 2004. The word "comadre," in addition to being loosely translated as "godmother," also is a slang-term for anyone not related by blood to be a part of another's family.
Since their formation, the band has released three LPs and one EP on their own Bloodtown RecordingsDood RecordsCosmic Note Records in Japan, and ADAGIO830 Records in Europe, and has extensively toured the United States of America and Japan, in America most commonly with Los Angeles-based "cinema-grind" band Graf Orlock, and in Japan with hardcore band Endzweck.
The band has also released a series of mixtapes, featuring collaborations with other bands.
